Mr Onley was a teacher that I truly admired he instilled the ethic for learning and working hard I would even go as far as saying he was one of my favorite teachers at Chippewa Secondary from 1972 to 1974 Thanks for the gift of knowledge

It was an honour and privileged to work alongside George in three different schools. With his no nonsense but humorous approach, students were eager to sign up for his classes. He was particularly effective with and appreciated by adult students and at risk students. For many of the female adult students, George was the first male in their lives who treated them with respect and who encouraged them to be successful. He was my "right hand" man and I never worried when George ran the Adult Centre in my absence. I will miss his thoughtful suggestions, his humour, and his positive attitude.

We just heard tonight about George,s sudden passing.We are devastated by this sad news. We go back a long time...teaching at Chippewa,sailing(once)onLake Nipissing,dinners at each other's, homes.George introduced us to Dark and stormy...a rum drink.One of his boat models sits in our den.A gregarious, fun loving personality.We shall definitely miss him!
