SMITH, Elvin

Peacefully passed away at his residence in Powassan on January 30, 2017 at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by his wife; Edith (nee Galliott). Elvin is survived by his children; Lonnie (Jackie), Bryant (Diana), Steven (Bonnie), and Dennis (Karen). He will always be lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elvin was predeceased by his parents; Louis and Martha (nee Bigras), his sons; Freeman (Heather) and Wayne, brothers Basil, Connie, Irvine, Danny and Kenny, and his sisters Ella and Mimi. He is survived by his two sisters Elsie and Phyllis. Elvin was a very well-known long-time resident of Powassan and a constant ray of sunshine to everyone he met. Affectionately known as “Elvis” in the community he will be very much missed by all who knew him. He will always be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and his many friends. The family will receive visitors at the Whispering Pines Funeral Home (15 King Street East) on Saturday February 4th 2017 from 10am to 1pm. A funeral service will follow in the Whispering Pines Chapel at 1pm to celebrate Elvin’s Life. Cremation will follow at Whispering Pines Crematorium with a spring interment in Silverland Cemetery in Haileybury, Ontario.
