Charles 'Leo' Chivers

Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on February 4, 2014 at the age of 81 years. Leo was the beloved husband of Monica (née Geisler) for 58 years. Dearly loved father of Karen Chivers and Marnie Dalgetty (Guy). He will be lovingly remembered by his two grandchildren; Sarah and Jill. Dear brother of Agnes Reid (Gordon-deceased). Leo will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Ellen (nee Kervin) and Harry Chivers, one brother, John Chivers (Margaret) and three sisters; Rita Bolger (Frank ‘Bud’), Frances Hunter(William) and baby sister Mary. Leo worked for the Ontario Provincial Police for 34 years. He was an active Knights of Columbus Member – 4th Degree for 52 years and an associate member of the Callander Legion for 25 years. Family and friends may pay their respects at McGuinty/ Whispering Pines Funeral Chapel (87 Lansdowne Street Callander Ontario )on Sunday February 9th  from 2 – 4 pm and 7 -9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Alphonsus Church on Monday at 11 am.  Cremation will follow at Forest Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice or to the North Bay Regional Health Centre, or Northern Cancer Research would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
